Lou Piniella is my coach

New to Chicago, I am always amazed at how warm everybody is. Having been here only for only a couple months, imagine my surprise when Lou Piniella (famed Chicago's Cubs manager) was in my personal dugout giving me daily afirmations.

Have Lou brighten up your day with a couple daily affirmations.

Early video games are retro cool

I know I just posted earlier today about the Atari print ads, but I've just come across Pontiac's twist on an old NES videogame. In "Spy Hunter," a G8 GT replaces the original car. As the video deftly shows the cars performance in dodging oil spills and spiked-assassin cars, a wave of nostalgia overcame me.

And no doubt, anybody within my age group will remember the add. A perfect ad that pre-selects its audience.

Take a trip down memory lane:

My diagnosis

Starz.com has offers a free therapy session. You're asked to answer a series of questions. It's a bit tongue and cheek and an interesting way to highlight their show "head case," but seems to fall flat in the execution. It's no have it your way chicken.

Spend a couple minutes with Dr. Goode and see what she has to say about it. There are still available slots. I've posted my "diagnosis" below.

Warning: mature content.

Don't recklessly throw your gum on the floor, Hubba Bubba now offers a way to put your gum to good use--to make street art! It even works for color blind folks, like me.

Bravo! bravia

Sony Bravia does not disappoint with its third, and latest, advert. With a tagline of "color like.no.other" their commercials have been rich with color and full of creativity. I first heard of their commercial from a friend in advertising who, at the time, was working out of San Francisco. They had closed down a street and dropped thousands of bouncing balls down the steep hills of SF.

The final product can be seen here. Coincidentally, this is also how I discovered Jose Gonzalez.

The second ad, "paint" lived up all expectations. I can't imagine how many tons of paint they had to go through to pull it off.

This latest one lives up to my expectations. Taking over New York, artists painstakingly created a stop motion commercial. Revel in the quality of their work and check out their newest ad "Play-Doh".
